The University of Delta academic calendar for the 2023/2024 session is out. The academic calendar contains important dates for the first and second semesters, which is vital for students.

All activities related to the academic year are in this calendar.

First Semester

According to the academic calendar, fresh students are to resume on campus on the 12th of November, 2023. After that, the medicals for fresh students, as well as screening exercise, will continue on the 13th of November, 2023.

Old students are to return to campus on the 19th of November, 2023. Registration of courses for all students, as well as the commencement of lectures, will start on the 20th of November, 2023.

Orientation for fresh students, an avenue to introduce the institution and its activities better to them, will last for three days, from the 13th of December 2023 to the 15th of December 2023.

After that, the matriculation ceremony customary for new students as they commit to the institution through their induction will be on the 16th of December, 2023.

The 22nd of December 2023 is the last day scheduled for applications for resumption of studies. The registration of courses for all students in the University of Delta will end on the 5th of January, 2024.

The University of Delta will allot twelve days for late registration of courses (with penalty fees); this will take place from the 8th of January 2024 to the 19th of January 2024. Students interested in withdrawing/deferring or adding and deleting courses must do so before the 19th of January 2024.

Lectures for the first semester of the 2023/2024 session will end on the 16th of February 2024, while lectures will submit all Continuous Assessment (CA) scores to the HODs in all departments.

After the end of lectures for the semester, a revision period will be allowed for all students to review their academics. It will last from the 19th of February till the 23rd of February 2024.

The first-semester examination for the 2023/2024 academic year will begin on the 26th of February 2024 and end on the 22nd of March 2024. After the examination, the students will be allowed a two-week break, which will take place between the 25th of March, 2024, and the 5th of April, 2024.

 

Second Semester 

According to the academic calendar, all students of the University are to return to campus on the 7th of April 2024. Lectures in the institution will commence fully on the 8th of April, 2024.

During the academic period, the senate will vet the 1st-semester results on the 29th of May, 2024. Lectures for the second semester 2023/2024 academic session will end on the 21st of June, 2024, while the submission of scores for Continuous Assessment (CA).

According to the academic calendar, students will be accorded a revision period from the 24th of June, 2024, till the 28th of June, 2024. The second-semester examination will begin on the 1st of July, 2024.

Once the examination ends, there will be an 11-week break for all students (from the 29th of July, 2024, to the 11th of October, 2024). Academic activities will further resume on the 14th of October 2024.
