University of Ibadan Resumption and Exam Date

The University of Ibadan academic calendar, which contains the resumption and exam date, is out. The academic calendar consists of important dates for the first and second semesters, which is essential for students in the institution.

According to the academic calendar, online registration for new students will commence on the 1st of April, 2024. After that, there will be two days of virtual orientation for new students between the 3rd of April 2024 and the 4th of April 2024.

The matriculation ceremony, which is customary for all new students in various institutions in Nigeria, will be done virtually on the 23rd of April, 2024.

Between the 20th of May, 2024, and the 7th of June,2024, there will be a post-virtual lecture break. After that, resumption for new students and online registration of retaining students will be on the 10th of June, 2024.

Once this has been completed, the institution will take 11 weeks to teach, revise, and conduct Continuous Assessments. This will be between the 17th of June, 2024, and the 30th of July, 2024. The university will conduct the GES examination between the 2nd of September 2024 and the 6th of September 2024.

Then, there will be two weeks of examination in the Faculties of Education, Medicine, Law, Agriculture, Clinical Science, Basic Medical Science, Pharmacy, Technology, Renewable Natural Resources, Dentistry, Public Health, and Environmental Design and Management.

Furthermore, two weeks will be permitted for examination in the faculties of Arts, Social Science, Science, Veterinary Medicine, Economics, and Management Sciences between the 23rd of September 2024 and the 4th of October 2024.

Second Semester 

The University of Ibadan will resume its second semester with 11 weeks for teaching, revising, and carrying out Continuous Assessments. It will occur between the 21st of October, 2024, and the 10th of January, 2025.

The first-semester examination results will be processed from the 11th of November, 2024, till the 22nd of November, 2024. There will be a two-week meeting of various faculties to consider the first-semester non-final year results (between the 25th of November, 2024, and the 6th of December, 2024).

Between the 17th of December, 2024, and the 19th of December, 2024, there will be a senate meeting to consider the first-semester non-final year results.

The GES examinations will begin on the 13th of January 2025 and end on the 17th of January 2025. After that, the university will fix two weeks between the 20th of January 2025 and the 31st of January 2025 for examinations in the Faculties of Education, Pharmacy, Law, Technology, Agriculture, Clinical Sciences, Renewable Natural Resources, Dentistry, Public Health, Basic Medical Sciences, and Environmental Design and Management.

After that, there will be two weeks for examinations in the Faculties of Arts, Social Science, Science, Management Sciences, Economics, and Veterinary Medicine.

Results will be processed from the 17th of February 2025 till the 28th of February 2025. Also, there will be a two-week meeting of Faculty Boards of Examiners (final and non-final year results) from the 3rd of March 2025 till the 14th of March 2025.

Lastly, Senate meetings for the final and non-final year results will commence from the 24th of March 2025 till the 26th of March 2025.
